Primary Care

What is primary care?

Primary care is a specialty of medicine that promotes your general health and helps you take steps to prevent illnesses and injuries. At L.A. Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine, you can access fast primary care services like diagnostic testing and general treatments for nonemergency conditions.

Primary care providers have a wide scope of expertise. They can treat conditions and symptoms originating in many different organs and systems and can help you learn to stay healthy in the future. They can also refer you to trusted specialists for more advanced or specific health care.

You should consider attending a walk-in appointment or booking an appointment ahead of time for primary care if you don’t want to wait for hours in an emergency room, if you don’t have a personal primary physician already, or if you need treatment outside of normal business hours.

Which primary care services are available?

L.A. Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine offers many services and treatments for an accurate diagnosis and the best possible outcome. They offer:

·         In-house lab services

·         On-site pharmacy

·         Digital X-rays

·         Physical exams

·         Vaccinations

·         Flu shots

·         Pregnancy testing

·         Drug testing

·         Acupuncture

·         Vitamin shots

·         Pain management

If you arrive at the clinic with symptoms, the team asks about your medical history, the onset and characteristics of the symptoms, and any medications you currently take. They perform a physical exam and any necessary further testing. Then, they devise a treatment plan with medications, therapies, and other treatments to improve your condition or help you manage it.

Which conditions can primary care treat?

You can visit L.A. Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine for mild to moderate conditions affecting your health and well-being. The highly skilled team is able to diagnose and treat:

·         Cold and flu

·         Sore throat

Even if you’re not sure what you have, you can come into L.A. Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine for an assessment of your overall health. If you’re bleeding a lot or lose consciousness, emergency care may be a better option for you than primary care. However, primary care can address many conditions and complications without the wait times and rushed care of an emergency visit.
